Lickety Split

I love to see you smile
as pleasure plays upon your face.
This sweet embrace, a sticky kiss,
dissolves the self into a bliss
that runs from nose to tippy toes
and back again.

Your fingers pull me closer to
the center of expanding joy,
your strength surprising to this
happy lap dog.

Wagging tails, and wagging tongues,
until at last the chorus of your cries
resounds inside our cozy room.

Lips, and lips, and lips slide easily
from side to side as, damp and weak,
you bask within the flush and glow.
I love you so.
